shattered again

I lay shattered on the floor
At your feet
I could not comprehend the words
You were saying
And as you continued
I understood
My heart broke
My stomach dropped.
I feel how I used to.
After my father would beat me down with words
I never realized you could
Do this to me
Never knew you could hurt me with your words also
And now I lay at your feet
Shattered into a million pieces
All because you said “I don’t need you anymore”
